Fun Day With Hubby

Friday was hubby's day off so like always we had a lot of things to get done....one we ordered a new washer....ours took a dump. It'll be delivered on Monday and bonus, they take the old one away for free....yeah!
After that we went to lunch at Panera's  for lunch and then I surprised him and took him over to this place for a treat.....we celebrated his 1st rebirthday on the 3rd and since he worked that day I took him Friday. You see it was a year ago on the 3rd that my wonderful hubby had a heart attack and died in my arms....God was so merciful to give him back to me!
This place is called "CBS Cupcakes" in San Marcos. The owner is a sweet lady that's in my card club.
Her place is so darn cute I had to share...who wouldn't love this cotton candy machine for themselves? Check out the metal carriage in the lower right!

Don't you just love this dog house....she even makes doggie cupcakes!
Here's a closeup of the metal carriage.......I sure would love one of these....oh the things I could fancy this up with!
Ok so the good stuff...I know it's all good but the yummy stuff...first you pick the flavor cupcake you want, then you pick your frosting and then you pick your topping....this was hubby's...chocolate all the way.
Mine was a toss up between key line or red velvet....key lime won...frosting was key lime and pink sugar sprinkles......it was so good but way toooo rich for me!  Next time a mini one will do me just fine...lol!

Well, we needed the sugar high so we could take down all the Christmas decorations awaiting us at home...:-D

Goodwill finds...

Small haul from Goodwill....below was a spice rack from Crate & Barrel that has 12 glass bottles perfect size to hold a large jar of Martha Stewart glitter. Gotta love the price...$3.99!

Here it is all cleaned up and sitting in my craft room....only had enough to fill 3 jars......that leaves me 9 more to fill....now where are my coupons!

Here's another great find....2 different size label makers....the blue is a Dymo buddy for $1.99 and the other I've never seen before....must be an industrial office supply one. It prints out larger than any one I have and I have 4 now...which all print out different sizes and fonts....I love diversity!

That's it for today.....have a Son blessed day!

My First Journal for 2012

I'm excited to use my new journal....I love making these beauties and filling them with thoughts of blessings from the Lord in my daily life!
I made this one very simple...I cover inside and out with different patterned paper. I covered the spin with plain cardstock and attached the initial tape. I die cut my name using a Sizzix strip die and attached one of my little handmade flowers.
The inside front cover has a large pocket at the bottom and I just attached some embellishments and using my Just Rite stamp set for the saying.
The back inside cover I just stamped the date stamp at the top, this also is on the front inside cover which has the beginning date and this will have the ending date of this journal. The stamped butterfly flourish set is from a stamp set hubby gave me for my birthday....love it.
The back cover is just plain as you can see.
I'm already working on the next journal which will be all black and white......I'm sure I'll fill this one fast!
Happy New Year to you all and may you be blessed with good health and happy memories!

My December Creations

I had some time to make a few things for the house and some handmade Christmas cards. I have some great ideas for next year.....one that will do double duty...I'll post some pics later.
Below is a "Merry Christmas" sign I make with the Tim Holtz medium size rosette die, Christmas scrapbook paper, Sizzlits alphabet letter die and some glitter paper. It's attacked to a red felt matt board and I just glued a Christmas ribbon to the back for hanging.

Christmas card #1 I used an EK boarder punch with red shimmer paper for the top, an EK corner punch for the bottom corners of card, the black piece is cut from a Sizzix Top Note die edged in silver pigment ink. The ornament is a Tim Holtz mover & shaper die and the other is a die using the "Postage Stamp" Nestabilite die. Both stamps used are from Joann's dollar bin.
All edges of the card inside and out are inked with a light brown die ink.

Below is the inside of card #1....the ornament is an old original Sizzix die that I edged in ink and stamped.

Card #2...a very simple card. I used a snowflake pattern paper for the background, stamped it with a snowflake flourish stamp and Believe stamp and glued a blue snowflake embellishment on the top.

The inside is very simple also, used two sizes of a nestability die set and stamped the sentiment on that.

Card #3...this is hubby's favorite.....I used a full 8 1/2 - 11 sheet of cardstock for this one, folded in half. I first stamped the snowflake background using silver pigment ink. I used 3 different Spellbinder nestabilitie dies, a snowman stamp, that I fussy cut, a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder, pop dots and bling for the front.

The inside I used a sizzlets ornament die and snowflake punch for the top embellishment. The sentiment I designed, printed out and edged in red die ink.

This little "Noel" banner I made the same way as the "Merry Christmas" hanging sign above.
This is attached to my craft room door....in case I get lost I know where I belong.....heehee!
