Father's Day is on it's way...just 2 days away!

Her are a couple of cards I made for my scrubby....he has the whole weekend off...funny how that is, he usually works Mother's Day weekend...lol!

This card above I used a card from Ikea, mounted onto another piece of kraft cardstock.
I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo, mounted a strip at the bottom from the G45 Curtain Call collection. I used Tim Holtz stamp set "The Journey". The car is counted on pop dots as well as "Enjoy The Journey" that I just cut apart and staggered the words to fill in the blank space.

This next one would not come together....everything I tried was a disaster....my friend came over last night to make bookmarks for the youth group craft day...was quite amused...lol!
But this morning walla....here's the end result.
I sprayed a piece of black cardstock with SU "Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint". I like the fine shimmer it gives.....very vibrant!
I stamped the "Father"s Day" stamp that I got at Joann's dollar bin on white cardstock and than layered with pop dots onto two Spellbinder die cuts. All the white cardstock is edged with the Black Soot distress ink.
At the bottom, I placed some metal tape onto a scratch piece of cardstock, stamped it with black StazsOn ink and cut out an oval. That too is placed on with pop dots.

For the inside I stamped out a top hat from a dollar stamp set from Joanns cut it out and glued it into the corner....kinda gives it a little dimension.

That's is for my cards....hope you enjoyed them.

last CC for summer...

Thought I'd show you the last set of projects form my monthly card club. We resume in September.
Starting on the left this is called the "Side Step" card. you can see the tutorial here!

The cherry card is a simple little 3x3 note card but it's a "scratch and sniff" card....for some reason everyone likes this one...lol! This is taken from a YouTuber names dawn5377....you can see the video here.

Now the project on the right is a gift card holder card taken from a Youtuber named HollysStampinMania.....and you can see the video here.
I love that little girl stamp.
Looking forward to the fall session!

Heart Set on Pilgrimage...Psalm 84:5

I was gifted by a dear friend Penny, with a ticket to attend the "Woman's Retreat" the weekend of June 3rd. What a beautiful weekend full of blessings. Our speaker was Jeanie Alfred, what a sweet woman and boy can she give a powerful message...I know not one woman went home on Sunday the same as they arrived on Friday!
Our Theme was "Heart Set On Pilgrimage" from Psalm 84:5

Below is a table of ladies having breakfast and enjoying each others company.

Here is our speaker Jeanie....I just ♥ her!

Below is one of the centerpieces a shadowbox that was set on each table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the ladies in my card club made them.....she did a beautiful job.

Now the rest of the pictures are taken on grounds of the Bible College where our retreat was held. The first is along the path we walked from our dorm rooms to the dining and meeting hall, it's a waterfall with the Calvary Dove done in mosaic tiles.....beautiful!

This place is built on natural hot springs and they're all along the walk way...there is also a huge mineral spa that we took advantage all weekend.

Ok this is my favorite...can you see Rock Man as I call him......watch out he's sticking out his tongue at you...lol!

Below is my BFF Dalana and roomie for the weekend with Judy another sweet sister in Christ.

This picture is what we see outside out dorm....not too shabby. All along the path are alcoves to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery....on our Saturday break I took some of my paper punches, card stock and made flowers while enjoying the view.
Just to show you it is a bible college....now who wouldn't want to attend this college. The students that live up here while taking classes, were the ones who took care of us...they were so sweet and they worked hard to make our weekend a pleasant one.

Found this hidden garden and walkway with this amazing waterfall and beautiful roses!

One final look down the path that we walked all weekend....

The weather was gorgeous this weekend, they usually go in July when the temps are in the 100's but this was earlier and just perfect.
