Mother's Day gifts....

Here are some Mother's Day gifts I made for my friends.
I used the large cloths pins I got at Michael's in their dollar bins. I picked a few pink, a blue and one green...for my MIL.
I just decorated with designer paper and added simple embellishments.

This one is for my Friend Penny, she loves music and this paper has a music theme to it.
The flower is one I made...I have a YT tutorial on how I made them if you care to check it out.
The picture below is the other side embellished with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

These two below were for my friends Dalana and Charris...both are pink clips.
Dalana loves purple and I just added a white fabric flower and some bling.
Charris, loves pink, blue and purple....I added a blue flower bling to hers.

On this side I just put a MS butterfly on them.
I punched a scalloped circle and stamped "A Mother is a special kind of friend" to the front and added a little note on the back.

I didn't get a picture of my MIL's...I had to hurry and get it in the mail this morning but her's was done using a green clip and her favorite color orange.

I have one more pink one to make for myself...I think I'll use black...love the combo!

I love my honey.....he has given me the best 15 years of my life and this week was wonderful he is my best friend and the love of my life ♥♥♥

Anniversary cards....

Our Anniversary cards to each other....we don't do traditional.....

Hubby's is made from a large chipboard piece using Graphic 45 "Curtain Call" line of paper.
I will do a Youtube video on both later.

This is mine from hubby....he picked up the canvas frame from Joanns, painted on the crown using some beaded gel medium and painted it a yellowish color and glued all the gems on there. The verse is from Proverbs 12: 4a....."An excellent wife is the crown of her husband...."!
We both wrote our own notes to each other on the backs.
This is what we do for our Anniversary....we make each other things that express the years....now mind you these are only the cards to each other not the gifts.....his is taking me a bit longer to make and so is mine....those will come later.

Celebrety watch.....

We love to people watch so this trip was no exception.....Beverly Hills has quite a diverse sea of characters....interesting.
When we arrived Vanessa checked us in and said if we wanted to wait an hour and half she would upgrade our room from 200.00+ to a 400.00+ room at no extra cost...no brainer...yeah.

So she had a driver take us to Century City to shop....I'm NOT a shopper, but we did people watch...the first place we happened to come across is my favorite store....now I could do some damage in there...lol!

We had a wonderful romantic dinner at a place on Santa Monica called "Silk"....Thai Cuisine.
We decided to go for a walk and came across this street.....hmmmmm wonder who lives down there????

So, as we're walking down Wilshire Blvd. we came to this street....Rodeo Dive

Fitting sculpture for such a place....need I say more.

Go figure it's only 6pm and there is now one open or on the street....

Hubby did some Mother's Day shopping while we were there....I picked the bracelet above the necklace.....lol!
Well it's the thought that counts...hehe♥

Ok, so we head back to the hotel and there is all this commotion going on as I walk by the front doors and this is what it's all about.....standing right outside is Charlie Sheen...he was here for a red carpet event....

I have no idea who this gal is but she was on the red carpet too...

You can see Extra, ET and Access Hollywood all trying to get an interview in this small 4x10 area....funny that's all any red carpet is.

We did however get the scoop when we checked out that Price William and Kate will be staying at the same hotel when they come to America this summer.

Beverly Hills trip....

On May 4th hubby and I celebrated our 15 anniversary....woo hoo♥ it.
My girlfriend gave us a gift certificate for a free nights stay at the Beverly Hills Hilton so we went up there on Thursday....we had a great time. Below, is the view of the fountain just below our room.

This is the side entrance into the hotel.....this pic doesn't do it justice...the smells were so intoxicating with the Jasmine in full bloom and the other tropical flowers....my nostrils hurt from all the deep breathing I did trying to soak it all in...lol

This is the sunset from our balcony......

The next couple of pics are of permanent house guests of the hotel.....I couldn't believe how clear these pictures turned out....a good photographer waits and shoots many pictures until they get that right one....this lion fish was mine...♥

This guy was not happy with me...I was determined to get his picture....he's giving me the look...lol!

We got there early so we went to Century City and did some people watching...it's a big outdoors shopping mall and they had a huge out side Farmers Market...both Bryan and I had our first Falafels....have to try and make some at home...they were tasty!

I've been a busy gal lately....I just finished up my cards for our last card club next week. We take a summer break and resume back up in September.
This months theme was anything goes and here's my take.

I used my new Martha Stewart deep edge heart punch for the bottom front and backed it with a piece of purplish blue card stock to really bring out the design. I stamped the work "Bliss" from a dollar stamp I got at Michael's last year in a deep purple....hmmm....looks blue in the picture.
I digress...the flower I die cut using my Hello Kitty Bigz flower die from Sizzix. I used two different colors of purple...a light sparkly lavender and the same purple used for the bottom of the card. For the centers, I just put some white glue that dries clear and sprinkled with white iridescent glitter.
I than used Spellbinders Labels 11 dies for the foundation of the flower...both in the same two purple shades of the flower. I than sponged the edges in two different shades of purple.
Their quite stunning in person.

This a RAK I received from Aissa on YT & FB. She commented on my homemade bow easy, so I made one and sent it to her.

This is the beautiful card enclosed with all the goodies.....love that stamp!

I was blown away when I opened the package to find all these goodies inside...all Tim Holtz die cuts....and of course I don't have a one of these dies yet....I just got my Cuttlebug and have to now start building my stash of dies.
I am picky on the dies that I do buy....I'm not an impulse buyer anymore so I choose wisely..lol!

You can see from the picture above there was a large piece of die cut chipboard full of fibers....lovely and each one will be put to good use.

Below is the first envelope full of die cuts....I'm sorry to say I didn't stick around at the Sizzix warehouse sale last November to get the Heart Wing die....now I wish I had....maybe this year.
I like the Sewing Room die...very vintage and lots of possibilities.
I really like the hanging sign die...that was another one I almost got but hubby said no not practical....last time I listen to him...lol! The Baroque die is quite large...I think I would like the mini one.....tho this one is a nice shape.

The next package had the dies below in it....not quite sure what the frame one is but I like it...almost reminds me of "Snow White" mirror, mirror on the wall....heehee!
Like the large scalloped circle dies...nice and big.
Love the Tags and Bookplate dies....that tag is huge....SWEET and the bookplates are a nice size too. And of course the Gears one....what can I say other than how cool are they!!!! They'll be put to use in my hubby's anniversary mini I'm making him.

Thank you again Aissa for your sweet generous gift. I didnt' realize how amazing these dies are until I saw them close up and personal...♥
