Coverd Journal and tag....
Here's a quick little project I did last night. I covered my latest journal. When I read and study scripture I have a journal I write everything in...this is my third one. I just started doing this about a year ago and love it. I buy the composition books when the back to school supplies come out for about a quarter.
This was a very simple cover...I love the color purple and was going through scraps to get rid of and decided to them here. I first placed all the scraps down with mat gel, stamped all over and covered with Matt Mod Podge to seal it all in.
This is the inside back cover...same cards stock and more butterflies....what can I say...I love butterflies and the tag I created too!CC cards finished...
The theme for this month card club was "Thank You" and here is mine I created.
I first chose the card and envelope style from the "Wild Card" templates by Wordsworth...I've had these for about 5 years...a friend of mine from a previous card club gave them to me as a birthday gift.
It's a trifold type card..the front has two flaps...the middle I used K & Co. paper to cover, than sponged rust ink all around the edges and stamped the sentiment. The top flap, I clear embossed a flourish stamp and used my new butterfly M. S. punch.
I used the standard oval Nestibilite dies and stamped the birds on the smaller one. I used a gel pen called "Clear Cosmos" on the three dots on the the birds...love this gel pen it's so sparkly!

Simple decorations,,,,
After being sick for a week, finally got the rest of the Halloween decorations up....very simple this year.
Hubby made the Jack Skellington pumpkins...after Halloween we'll just turn them around and keep them up for Thanksgiving.

Each window has decorations...my wonderful DH made the wood window treatments for me a few years ago after pricing them at a craft show.
Below, it the metal bucket I painted a few years back and I still love putting it out every year..only this year I added flowers and stuck the flickering lighted pumpkin in it...looks too cool at night.
This is our shelf over the fireplace...we removed the mantel to make it more open.
Can you see my mummy pumpkin I made last year peaking out from the leaves on the left...lol!
The tall vase on the left has harvest colored lights and small glass ball ornaments in it...looks nice light up and of course our newest decoration this year...the BOO plaque I made. You can see more pics of the plaque in an earlier post.

Altered clipboard
Here's a little project I wanted to share with you...it's an altered clipboard.
It measures 6 x 9 and fits the small note pads as shown below. I added a strip of decorative paper to cover the top of the note pad...quick and easy.

Where has the time gone....
I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted....lots going on as I'm sure you are experiencing the same. I can't believe that next weekend is Halloween already and the month is gone and Christmas is just around the corner.
I've been decommissioned this week and I don't think I've slept so much in my entire life at one time....I got the flu shot and that other one they said I needed and have had a bad time of it this go around. I've slept for five days straight and have had no energy...but I'm happy to say that today I'm up and moving...even mustered up enough energy to work in the art room.
Hubby hung two bygel rails for me to put my punches on and another rod for hanging some stamp sets that I use a lot. He also made me a box for my stamp pads, so now they are all sitting right in front of me...love it.....thank you honey♥♥
I moved a new cabinet under my work desk...shorter and more functional for me. I have lots to clean and rearrange tomorrow so pics will be posted the week.

Candy bowl or candle bowl?
If you guessed either one you would be right....it's a candy dish or it's a candle holder....my new Halloween light for my table.
This was so fun and easy to make, I'll share with you the process.....
List of supplies:
1. glass fish bowl....I purchased mine at my local craft store.
2. Mod Podge
3. Orange acrylic paint in two to three different shades.
4. Yellow acrylic paint
5. White acrylic paint
6. Black Acrylic paint
7. compressed sponge. and cello sponge.
8. Acrylic paint brushes
9. Black Sharpie pen
I first washed the bowl in soapy water to remove any finger prints or residue.
Next I covered the outside with Mod Podge...this give the paint a tooth to grab on to otherwise the paint will chip right off. Once dry I took a cello sponge and cut a small square piece out of it. I proceeded to sponge the darkest orange acrylic paint on the outside. I covered most of it, let it dry and then proceeded to sponge on the remaining different orange paint, finishing with the lightest color....drying between each color.....very important, otherwise the next color will lift off the previous colors.
Set it aside and take the compressed sponge, cut out the shape of the eyes and nose...now you should have three shapes...large oval, smaller circle, a large triangle and a small triangle. You can paint these on freehand but it was faster and easier to do it this way. One dip into the paint and on the bowl and your done.
Dip the large oval in white paint for each eye. When dry, dip the small circle in black paint and place how you like in the white part of the eye. When that is dry, I used the end of one of my paint brushes for the white dot in the black of each eye.
Take the large triangle and dip into yellow paint and place on bowl. Than dip the small triangle in white for the two teeth....you can refer to the picture for placements.
Once all this is dry, I outline the eyes, nose and teeth with the black sharpie and add the hash lines around the outside of the eyes, in the nose and the squiggly lines for the mouth.
Let dry completely and than cover it again with Mod Podge to seal it all in.
There you have it....any questions please leave a comment.

What a day...
Yesterday was full of rain, thunder & lightening....much needed after the 100+ temps we've had the past week!
I tried to do a video for YouTube on my "Paris" tag...worked great, the lighting was great but when I went to load it on my computer...it was no good...I mean the SD card was no good...I guess they do go bad....lol! I changed out the card for a 1G and did it but the lighting was dark....just couldn't win...can't wait to get another digital camera....and suggestions?
Hubby was so wonderful, after talking to him on his lunch hour be bought me a brand new 4G card for my camera....how sweet is that...I ♥ you honey!
I did find out that my local Joanns store, as little as it is, now carries the Spellbinders Nestabilities dies.....I so did the happy feet dance. Hubby couldn't wait to tell me when he got home from work.
Ok, maybe I should explain, Bryan works part time at Joanns, stocking a couple days a week, nice cuz I still get the discount and his full time job is with Office Depot. If he had it his way he would work full time at Joanns....just waiting on the right offer!!!!
Well, that's it for now...I'll be back soon!

HOT Surprise....
Well, it's been HOT...HOT...HOT here....yesterday it was 110+....oh, I wilted like a flower...yes, we do have AC but I'm not a big fan of AC. Hubby turned it on when he got home at 8pm...what a wimp, I went all day without it and he's not home 10 minutes and had to put it on...by then it was only 89 in the house.....I can make my fans work for me...lol
Ok, so I'm sitting at the computer yesterday, clear blue sky and very, very sunny right...than all of a sudden it get very black in the house.....ok, I'm thinking what's happppppeninggggg....I thought maybe the rapture was happening and I was missing it all....:-D
I immediately went to the front door and low and behold there was this little lonely cloud covering the sun....I laughed and had to get a picture.....

What a week....
Wow, it 's been a week.....I hurt my back to the point I could hardly walk for a few days.....praise the Lord through the power of prayer...my back is healed and no problems♥
Second thing, we got word that our son and family are moving 6 hours away.....not happy about that. It was either get laid off or move up to Los Gotas, 2 hours from San Francisco.
Aaron, leaves tonight to drive up there and he will stay for a month, come home and get the house moved and Robin and the girls!
What I learned.....life can change in a blink of an eye so don't take anything for granted!
Happy Weekend♥

work in progress...
I started a new beaded freeform bracelet last Wednesday night...this was the first couple of days work.....
The pics below are my progress to date on it....I made the greenish one above a couple of years ago, this was my first attempt as freeform and love it.
I made a commissioned piece last year for a friend and she loved it too!
I like the freeform as you never know how it's going to turn out....I also work in twos..meaning that I do each side separate and than connect them in the middle which is the focal point...I was told when I did my first one that it's not customary to do it that way but since I taught myself, it works for me....lol!
My next one is going to be in purples....yummy!
Next pic will be the finished piece!

Work in progress...
I'm back.....
It's been a very long couple of weeks....first I had VBS (Vacation Bible School)...only it's more vacation bible play....lol!!! I had four boys and one girl....the youngest being 4 years old....way too young to be up and out till 9pm...but he was a trooper and a hand full...one was a "Debbie Downer" and complained most of the week....it was all good but glad it's over......did I mention that I was sick that week too!!
Finished that on Friday and my 3 week back to back Sunday School on Sunday, went to my son and dil's for a couple of days and just got back last night....was a relaxing time...didn't do much but fun spending time with the 2 younger grand kids.
Hubby's off the next 4 days...vacation...yeah...and we pick up the 2 older grand kids and we have them until Saturday....life is full!
I'm so blessed!!

Sizzix Haul...
I was so excited to get these goodies in the mail and can't wait to start playing with them....one, the Eiffel Tower, will have to wait until I can afford a machine that cuts the Bigz dies...currently I have the old sizzix machine and I'm contemplating on the Big Shot or the Cuttlebug....I've watched several YT videos on both and I'm not any closer to a decision than before watching them....lol
I did however see the demo on the new Tim Holtz "Vagabond" electric die cut machine that debuted at the summer CHA this year and I'm really, really liking that one....but I have to justify the $199.00, which isn't a bad price...so maybe my birthday and x-mass gift this year.
I've been wanting the ornate die, that's the one in the upper right hand...they sold out of them on the Sizzix Outlet store the first go around. All three dies including SH came to $20.00...not bad for a haul.

Altered Chalkboard.....
This is an altered chalkboard that I made for my MIL and FIL!
Any questions please let me know....
I purchased the small chalkboard from Michaels and I inked up the sides with Distress ink.
Next, I stamped a boarder image along the sides using SatzOn Jet Black ink.
I stamped and embossed the "Faith" stamp with gold embossing powder.
The leaf vine is a die cut of mine and I painted over it to tone it down with my own homemade shimmer paint.
I added my handmade paper flowers. the bottom left, is made from a scalloped punch and the upper right flower is made with the small retro flower punch.
the heart tag and the "thankful" saying are stickers and finally I added the "Believe" embellishment at the bottom.
I forgot to take a picture of the back which I finished with a piece of card stock, a "Faith, Hope & Love" stamp with a boarder punched lace trim....and of course a hand written note to them.

My style....
This is my latest tool and I love it...no more running out of glue tape in the middle of a project and getting frustrated with the smaller ones that run out after four uses....yuck! I wish I could afford an ATG gun but at $70.00 a pop no way not at this time so I went to the lower end and got this for $13.00....more my price range at the moment...lol!
Well, as soon as I took it out of the package I said no way is this going to stay like this...so out came the acrylic paint, stamps ink pad and h2Os and of course some BLING!!!
A find and a RAK....
This little goodie I found last night at Office Depot for .99...it's a picture magnet but I thought it would be great for a mini album....they come in all shapes and sizes...this one is a 3x3.
I really liked the colors and shape of this one.
This is a nice gift I received in the mail yesterday from Pat Winter...they are hand & heart charms. I emailed her and asked where she purchased them as I was interested in purchasing some myself but she so graciously said she would send me the extras she had on hand....how sweet is that.
